Jewish Tours buenos aires VALERIA DUEK
There is so much to see and discover in Buenos Aires, that every tour can and should be unique. Please let me know what interests you the most and how much time you would like to spend touring and I will prepare a tour just for you.
Did you know that Argentina has the largest Jewish Community in Latin America? This tour is not only about visiting meaningful sites, but more about learning about the History of the Jewish immigration to Argentina, deeply exploring the tragic episodes that dramatically changed the community and celebrating the active dynamic life of the Argentinean Jewish Community as it is today.
Discover why Buenos Aires is called the Paris of South America. Have a coffee like a local at Tortoni café, the oldest in town. Walk around the colorful La Boca. Buy some antiques in San Telmo, and do some shopping in Palermo Soho. Visit Evita Perón's grave and more!
We work very hard for our clients to feel welcome. We provide useful information such as how to exchange currency, recommendations for eating-out, what to do on your own in Buenos Aires, getting around with public transportation, Shabbat arrangements, and more.
Hi, my name is Valeria Duek.
I was born, raised and educated in Buenos Aires.
Regarding my Jewish education, I attended the elementary school Bet-El, which belongs to the congregation of the same name, founded by the Rabbi Marshall Meyer, who also created the Seminario Rabínico Latinoamericano, where I continued my Judaic studies at the Solomon Shechter Institute.
After studying at the University of Tel Aviv for a year, I came back to Argentina where I graduated as a Psychologist from the University of Buenos Aires.
After years of working in Human Resources departments of several multinational companies I felt the need to do something that fully represented who I am: deeply in love with Argentina and passionate about my Judaism.
My great-grandparents arrived from Syria over one-hundred years ago. My family history and my passion for showing that which I love, led me to start guiding these tours providing a complete Jewish experience in Buenos Aires.
On a personal note, I would like to thank my beloved parents for providing me with the finest education; my teachers who taught me to think by myself regardless of the circumstances, which was not an easy task considering that I grew up during a dictatorship; and my clients, who challenge me every day, allowing me to discover that there is always something new to learn and to show.
Last but not least, I would like to thank my husband, who always encouraged me to pursue this dream.
Jewish tours to warm your soul.
